Rob has been a successful, hands-on restaurant and catering owner for over 25 years. He began by co-founding Occasions Catering in Whittier, CA in 1991, and soon opened the first restaurant named after its popular, newly created marinade: Sundried Tomato. Rob has opened and operated several restaurants and is now focused on locations in San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente. With the success of these bistros well under way, Rob has been able to turn his focus back to catering and event venues in recent years. The Sundried Tomato catering division continues to grow exponentially, adding a new catering-specific kitchen and additional staff to keep up with demand. Additionally, clients are now offered exclusive and preferred event venues throughout Orange County. Rob is committed to forging new business ventures, giving back to the community, and supporting local organizations. When he is not at work, he enjoys traveling, trying new cuisine and golfing.

Rey PiñedoCorporate Chef
Rey joined the Sundried Tomato team over 20 years ago and has worked his way through the ranks to become Head Corporate Chef. He oversees the staffing, training, and management of all kitchen staff for the bistros, catering and event venue divisions. In creating new dishes for these divisions, Rey prides himself on using only the highest quality ingredients and respects guests’ dietary restrictions and allergies. He loves to design new sauces since they are the foundation of so many unique dishes. When Rey isn’t at work (which isn’t often) he enjoys spending time with his family, trying new cuisine, and spending time outdoors.
Saul CruzGeneral Manager
Saul is an accomplished restaurant executive with more than 20 years of industry experience. Having joined the Sundried Tomato team over five years ago, he exemplifies and demands the highest quality of service through exceptional operational, fiscal, and team leadership. Saul is very hands-on as he oversees both bistros, and plays a key role in the operations of the catering and event venue divisions. His flawless attention to detail and level- headed decision-making in high stress situations makes him a valuable resource to the entire brand. Saul enjoys spending time with his kids, and playing racquetball in his free time.
Patti PrachtWedding Sales Manager
Patti found her passion when she joined the Sundried Tomato team over 13 years ago. She was instrumental in growing the catering division; providing excellent customer service while executing small and large events flawlessly. When our exclusive event venue, Plaza de Magdalena, opened in spring 2015, Patti became Sales Manager, booking and overseeing all weddings. As a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, Patti keeps up-to-date on the most current wedding trends and professional vendors. Our brides know they are in good hands with Patti–from their initial tour, to their private tasting, and their very own, custom menu creations. When Patti isn’t working, she enjoys cruising the world, mountain biking, skiing, or really anything her kids are doing!
Orlando PerazaCatering Manager
Orlando grew up at Sundried Tomato! Now a second-generation employee, he would often accompany his mother to the restaurant’s catering events, and thus learned the business at a very early age. Orlando continued to work for Sundried Tomato on and off while earning his Bachelor’s degree with a minor in Business. Upon graduation, Orlando became our full time Event Supervisor. Overseeing all staff, event production, and scheduling, he is an asset to the entire team. In Orlando’s free time he enjoys wine tasting, shopping, and spending time with family.
